Sherin Philip, NP

NP was impatient and finished the exam after five minutes. I had to prompt her for more detailed counseling. Agreed with other reviewer that demeanor was unfriendly and condescending. Location is convenient but will not return to see her.

I saw a different provider in this practice back in 2019 for 6-7 visits and multiple ultrasounds upon the discovery of a large ovarian cyst and she seemed so unconcerned. I called the office for an emergency visit and that provider was unavailable so they booked me with Sherin. Sherin sat in that exam room for 40+ minutes answering EVERY. LAST. QUESTION. i had and calming every last fear. She didn’t have any new information that the other provider did but listened to what I was presenting to her, added that with prior complaints, prior radiology and my gynecological medical history and she looked at me and said “have you ever heard of endometriosis?” I had a vague understanding of what it was and she explained in greater depth the current knowledge of endo and then referred me to Dr. Hye In Park as she specialized in endo and surgery as the cyst was clearly a problem. Fast forward to November of 2019, Dr. Park performed my surgery (confirmed stage 4 endometriosis and a roughly 4 hour surgery) and I owe my life to that 40 minutes spent with Sherin Philip. She is worth her weight in gold. She was so deeply kind and understanding and thorough and brilliant. I had started seeing a gynecologist when I was 20, Sherin was the 4th gyno I saw and I was 26 by the time I did and SHE was the one who finally saw what was happening to me which was so obvious if anyone had just listened like she did. Being put on her schedule for that emergency visit changed my entire life, with absolutely no exaggeration.

She was terrible. She did not listen to my concerns at all! She kept trying to force birth control on me and I told her I did not feel well on it in the past, she said that it could be due a psychiatric issue? She was condescending and dismissive. After the experience with her I would not want to see an NP again.
