Constantly contradicts herself. Seemed disconnected and disinterested in my son’s conditions. Didn’t listen well, failed to inquire about basic healthcare background and school
involvements to understand what was going on. Very good at billing,
you’ll get billed on-time for sure!

Very untrustworthy therapist; not thorough and trustworthy assessments. Report made was full of inaccuracies. Both of my children did not like or trust her. Stay away.

Ms. Michaels really knows how to make clients at ease. She has so much knowledge about teens. She really helped my daughter! I would recommend her to anyone!

Very disappointed in communication with Shelbie through my oldest daughter's counseling. She has mentioned strategies and suggestions to me that were not provided to my daughter who wasn't made aware of options, she does not utilize historical data to connect with her patients (caught their office lying about requesting records from SMU Counseling to get background info), is slow to respond to requests and doesn't have my children's best interest at heart.

I highly recommend Shelbie to parents of high conflict divorce, especially those needing someone to testify in court. She is very professional and thorough.

Shelbie is the first therapist I have been to that took the time to really listen and helped put together a workable plan for my troubled teen. She relates to teenagers in a way that immediately puts them at ease. I find her to be upfront, honest and extremely ethical. I would highly recommend Shelbie Michaels.

I wouldn't trust negative reviews of Ms. Michaels (I'd guess that those with negative reviews were unable to lie and manipulate her). Ms. Michaels provides very thorough assessments of situations.. She was the most ethical therapist we have seen yet, and we had several unethical therapists. She knows her stuff! If you are in a custody situation due to alienation, you need to go see Shelbie. She books up fast and stays full, so contact her sooner rather than later.
