She kept asking me why my parents didn't emotionally support me. When I explained that they didn't know how to and that we resolved it, she kept stating that she still doesn't understand how they wouldn't know how to and kept implying that I should blame them, which would lead to unnecessary grudges and issues with people I love. She also compared my dad passing away with my friend's sister passing away, and stated that a sister passing away was much worse. Why even compare these experiences?

She kept asking me why my parents didn't emotionally support me. When I explained it had to do with cultural reasons and not knowing, she kept telling me that they should've known better and essentially wanted me to blame them for things that we had resolved and moved forward from. When I told her that a friend (who's sister had passed away 1 year prior) did not emotionally support me when my dad passed away, she told me that a sister passing was worse than a father passing. Why compare them?

She did not listen and would stare at her computer the entire time which led me to believe she was surfing the internet. She asked the same questions over and over again. She didn't do cognitive behavioral therapy which is why I went to see her. She dismissed and disregarded my experiences and compared me to other people who in her opinion had it worse. Ultimately, I left her office feeling worse than when I entered it. I would not recommend her to anyone especially people of color.
