My husband and I saw her for over 6 months and honestly I think some of the advice hurt more than it helped. She seemed to forget important facts from session to session and I think dragged things out so we didn’t get to the root of our problems. She also convinced my husband to do her anger management course on the side which cost an additional large sum of money. He ended up stopping before he finished it. We are fine today but it was because of things we did after we saw her. I still think about all that money we paid to her and all that time we spent to basically be insulted (she called us “toxic people in a toxic relationship”) and get no help.

I was Shawn's client for a few years during a very difficult time in my life where I was experiencing clinical depression, dealing with a terrible divorce and had untreated childhood trauma. I had seen other therapists but she was the first and only one to help me survive and thrive. Recovery is a journey but I began to heal and learned strategies to help me cope. My husband was seeing her for anger management. She was supposed to help us but she made the relationship worse. She asked me as his wife, to list his concerning behaviors so she could address them. She told me she would not tell him what I said. Instead, she broke my trust and gave him my email. Why she would give a person in anger management, something that would make him more angry, I will never know. Additionally, I was very honest in my email, and it did no good for him to read it. I confronted her about it, and she advised me that I’m not her patient, so she didn’t owe me any confidence. What followed for me was 3 years of Hell! I would avoid her services at all costs! She hurts more than she helps!
