The school and Responding to Autism screened for Autism for my child and it came out moderate. All the behaviors and symptoms were there. He took the time to assess but went against the autism diagnosis which gave a trickle down effect of my child not getting supports or help from anyone who saw the report. This doctor likes to take aim at the parents which means then everyone else does too when your child displays Atypical symptoms. I am all for education but his approach is neither healthy nor accurate. His misdiagnosis, or lack of experience in diagnosing accurately for this field speaks volumns. Especially when state hospitals can look at the same data and conclusively give a solid diagnosis and ask why our area is so inept. The lack of support created by this report does cause a mental health issue and is the opposite of what parents look for. It set a trajectory of gaslighting and medical invalidating in our area and schools. He does have a waiting list but not because he is good at what he does, but because there is a lack of resources in our area. My advice; if you want true professional help with people who know what they are doing, get out of the area and look to the true professionals. After 16 years of heartache caused by one opinion, save yourself time and money. If you do go here, be advised he charges a sizeable fee like no one else in the state or Oregon state to get the records that insurance and you pay for out of pocket. Fleecing at its best is what he is known for and many parents in our community have this same story. Ask around before going.
