This therapist does not appear to be skilled in dealing with extreme or multiple PTSD issues. She posts that among her areas of practice, but after several visits (during which I repeatedly requested to dig deep into my PTSD history), she regularly dodged those issues. I found this not only very unproductive, but actually harmful to me. I'd researched carefully to find someone who could address complicated PTSD issues, and after finding this provider, many painful memories surfaced but she refused to actually address my pain. She would allow me to mention various memories, but would not go down a therapeutic path with them. At one point I asked what she DID want to discuss, and she said, "Tell me about your week!" (I wasn't there to discuss my "week," but okay...). So, I would discuss "my week" as we started sessions. At one of my last sessions, when I asked if we could address "PTSD," she said, "Well, you come in here talking about your week..." No. Not good for PTSD.
