Dr. Ryan Swindell, OD

I have been dealing with an autoimmune disease that has yet to be diagnosed that is causing dry eyes. It has been four very torturous months of being in constant pain, yet having normal blood tests except for one autoimmune test. Dr. Swindell is the first provider I've come across who did not immediately dismiss my concerns because my gland functions were normal. It was the first time in this ordeal that I felt truly heard. Maybe there wasn't an outward sign of a gland dysfunction, but Dr. Swindell still gave me the respect of believing my dry eye complaints instead of dismissing them like other practitioners have and told me that it may be hard to detect what's going on due to the autoimmune issues being systemic. He did a fantastic job of educating me in a way that's easy for a lay person to understand and he took the time to engage with me, which seems really rare in healthcare nowadays due to doctors and staff being overworked. It was very refreshing and comforting to encounter a doctor who actually cares and I appreciate Dr. Swindell and his staff.
