I was disappointed that on my first and only call I explained my situation/problems for a full hour and was very vulnerable. He asked questions to keep me talking and then informed me the session was over and he'd schedule for 2 weeks. There was no clarification that he heard or understood me, no assurance that he could help, no outline of a potential treatment plan. I ended the call feeling very invalidated and unheard. It felt like a waste of time, l may as well have been talking to myself, as I wasn't confident that having another call would be any different, so I chose a different provider. I sent him feedback explaining my impression and he agreed not to bill me for the call but didn't offer any explanation like "I like to listen during the first call and start offering advice on the second" even though I'd pretty much begged for an explanation in my email. I assume he's good at his job, but he sure didn't sell me on continuing to have phone calls with him. I might have been willing if he'd given me ANY sort of encouragement.
