Robina Altbrandt, LCSW

Awful. I swear her goal was to make me feel worse about my self. Took no interest in my life. Said she hated coming to see me. All she does is play on the computer, knit and talk about her son. She is not an ally to the lgbt community. She also had a habit of showing up late and ignoring texts/calls/emails

I've been seeing Robina for almost 3 years now. I tried a number of therapists before her (of various genders, ages, and sexual orientations) and didn't stick with any for longer than a few months. Being able to vent or sit in comfortable silence (to varying degrees depending on the week and what I need) with someone who feels like a cool aunt is what apparently works well for me. Robina is flexible enough where sudden changes in my schedule can usually be accommodated. She is very informative.

As a trans woman I found Robina very easy to open up to. She is very knowledgeable and non judgemental. I found myself at complete ease and was able, for the first time, to openly talk about myself.

I've been seeing Robina for about a year and a half. As a trans man, finding the right person to talk to and work through my feelings and thoughts with was imperative. At the time when I started seeing her, I felt very much alone, frustrated with where I stood, and not very confident in myself. Looking back on that budding man, I can say that Robina's open-minded, bubbly, and wise character allowed me to open up and better understand myself. I highly recommend her, whether you're LGBTQ+ or not.

At first I thought she was decent. I have a hard time talking to therapists about my true feelings but when I started seeing her, I could do it. But soon after, I noticed her becoming more disengaged. She mostly spent time looking at her computer. She never asked me questions or gave me any real advice. Most of our sessions were as useful as talking to a wall. She would be very unreliable when booking appointments. I'd be told to text her and often wouldn't get a reply for a couple days.

In all honesty, I hated seeing her. I felt extremely uncomfortable. She never talked to me or asked questions unless it was about my day/week.. And I would sit there for a hr while she just would knit! She was completely unprofessional and rude! I do not recommend. Especially for the lgbt community
