Dr. Robert McPike, OD

Dr. McPike saved my life. I was a little apprehensive when Dr. McPike walked into the exam room when I was expecting Dr. Whipple, only because Dr. Whipple was a more experienced doctor. It turns out Dr. McPike is very knowledgeable and was attentive when I explained to him my vision problems. He was personable yet professional. He listened, asked good questions and was sensitive to my discomfort. I actually had several issues going on. Dr. McPike gave me a very thorough exam and was clear and accurate when communicating what steps he wanted me to take next. He took care of what he could in the office and then referred me to get a Doppler on my carotid arteries to rule out a blockage that might be causing my vision problem. I trusted his judgment and so thankful I did. Two weeks later, I had surgery to put a stent in after finding 99% blockage on one of my carotid arteries. My visions problems are all cleared up. Thank you Dr. McPike, you saved my life.

I started out seeing Dr Whipple wanting an Ophthalmologist not a Optometrist I came a second time to have field vision test and I saw Dr. McPike who confirmed Glaucoma -he wanted to see me evry three weeks to check my pressure when my previous eye Dr said every three months who I went to for 25 years in Illinois. I complied to that however I questioned being charged a co pay every three weeks and he did not address that-all of a sudden I got a letter dismissing me from their practise .

I highly recommend Dr. McPike. He is extremely thorough and explains everything he is checking for and any findings. His kindness and expertise is superior! So grateful to he and his staff.
