Invalidated feelings
When I was at my lowest, Rich told me that he knew countless people who have it worse than me and I shouldn’t be as upset as I am. During a crisis where I was feeling suicidal, he hung up the phone on me and I never heard from him again. Found a much better person since!

Inappropriate
This counselor is impulsively opinionated. They had a habit of habitually cutting me off and declaring their own philosophies. The environment they are accidently producing does not allow a person to develop their thoughts and feelings because everything must be centered around the counselors opinions. I felt unbelievably censored when speaking to them. I don't struggle with identity, so I don't need someone to tell me how to think, feel or act. I am grieving and needed space to heal. That is all I needed. Right now, this counselor is not able to provide that service. Additionally, because they have an impulse to speak so often, I have noticed that sometimes they say things that do not align with the truth and sometimes they make statements and deny them a few minutes after making said statement.

I'd never been to counseling before, but after being severely bullied at my job at the university of North Texas, I sought help. "Doc" Godoy (as I called him) was instrumental in helping me get through this extremely difficult time. He was fantastic and really helpful. I highly recommend him.
