Dr. Raphael Gunner, PSY.D

Dr Gunner is not a good couples therapist. He is perfectly okay with being a couples therapist for his patients he’s currently seeing which seems odd to me. He interrupted me frequently during my session and never interrupted my husband. He never addressed my feelings surrounding care in the home (chores, making magic for the kids, a lot of which I do on my own) and focused on making me make my husband feel a certain way. It felt like the 1950’s and like he would diagnose me with hysterics at any moment. When I addressed that I often had to step between my husband and children Dr Gunner didn’t seem to care or acknowledge that my husband did any wrong. Don’t come here if your partner suggests it. Find a therapist that neither of you have seen and go to them.

Amazing dr, I have seen him for over 5 years; and have fought tooth and nail to get back on his docket when I changed jobs and had to switch health insurance companies. He sees patients outside of the regular 9-5, which is a lifesaver since most people work and can't take off every week from work. He also does insurance approved remote web based sessions, which is great when patients are on work travel or just sick of LA traffic.
