Claims antidepressants never stop working over time, just need to be increased in dosage (provably false).Like many in the psych field, mostly relies on adding/increasing meds (overmedicating).Has no idea about the longer-term dangers of most psych medicines (you can look up the dangers for yourself).If a med he prescribes DOES cause other health problems (which many psych meds do), his suggestion is to tell your primary or specialist doctor to 'increase' your other meds! He is NOT a doctor and should not be giving that kind of advice anyway.These are the type of people that colleges and universities are churning out these days. Do your own research.

After changing to an insurance that doesn't have a set copay, I notice he's been charging for services he never performed. The office staff lied straight to me when I told them to fix it. On top of this, the man can't even be bothered to look at his notes when he talks to you. He also won't treat two symptoms at the same time -- a bit of an issue when you have bipolar disorder.

He listens, knows is pharmacology and physiology, imparting trust. This sense of trust, in my view, leads to better treatment plans from the psychotropic aspect.

Spoke to me for 5 minutes and prescribed me anxiety drugs & an esa letter. Told me if I needed anything else to contact the office and they would take care of it. 2 days later needing a form filled out to fly with my esa refuses to fill out the form because I’ve only had one session. He can prescribe habit forming drugs after 5 minutes but can’t sign off to let me fly with my esa?? I do not recommend him or any psychiatrist from icpc as they are unprofessional and cause more stress.

Rafael Contreras is an outstanding practitioner. He spends lots of time listening to his patients and really cares. He takes his time to understand your issues and treats you like an individual. Couldn't recommend him more highly. Very grateful to have found him.
