Rachael Hueftle, NP

I met with her twice, both times she rushed through the appointment and did not make any effort to listen to my concerns and feelings. She said my ADHD results were "kind of negative" and didn't elaborate past that. She prescribed me an antidepressant without asking any medical history or giving me any idea what I could expect from taking medication for the first time ever. Both my appointments with her were 5 minutes. She provided horrible psychiatric care and I do not recommend her.

Rachael has helped me get balanced. She really listens and cares + she doesn't over medicate. Counselor JoANN and NP Rachael work well together...I am blessed to have had them work together to help me through some of the toughest times in my life. ??

Rachael is an amazing NP. She’s been treating me for the last few years, and has come up with innovative ways to help me with my treatment resistant depression. She got me on medication that worked for a good few years, and currently we are doing ketamine treatments that are promising. Rachael is very understanding, answers all my questions, and really knows her stuff. She’s very patient and always asks how I’m doing, and she’s always kind. I drive from pacific beach all the way to Carlsbad and Oceanside to see her because the level of care she provides is worth the over 30 minute drive. She even got me a new pharmacy, Carlsbad Village Pharmacy, that is amazing! Without her expertise, I don’t know where I’d be. I’m so grateful.

My first visit was a bit rushed. I felt there was a lot more about my situation that Rachael needed to be aware of, however, she seemed satisfied to prescribe medication on what she heard. She was a bit distracted with her computer making little eye contact. The second visit was awful. I had called to get medication increased, which she agreed on. However, I had to make an office visit first. I waited over an hour, and as I watched 7 people come and go, I became anxious and angry. Then, with no apology and 5 minutes of her time, she quickly asked why I was there, as if she had no idea. A quick writing of a prescription and she was done. A few days later I called for a different re-fill only to be told I'd need to make another appointment. I felt the whole experience was impersonal and unprofessional. Another care-taker quick to write standard prescriptions without listening to the true needs of a patient. I won't be going back. Very frustrated and disappointed.

Rachael is incredible. She is the first person I have felt genuinely safe with and takes what I tell her seriously. She listens to what you say with empathy and understanding, then makes the best decision to help with your needs. She is thorough and explains everything well.
