Dr. Phyllis Kossak, PHD

She was a very sweet lady but she kept falling asleep on me ...kept talking about the same thing and didn't give me any actual help....

Like many other people here, when I saw her a few years ago she kept falling asleep during my session. When she was awake, she spent 15 minutes straight talking about Vitamin D supplements.

Horrible. Falls asleep. First session.

I had two sessions with Dr. Kossak and while she's a very sweet woman, she fell asleep a few times during the meeting. I went quiet the second I saw her eyes close and waited until she would reawaken and ask a random question, thinking she'd apologize for or acknowledge her mishap (she didn't). If you need genuine help for your problems, I would not recommend this doctor.

Nice person but she fell asleep multiple times. Doesn’t matter what time of day you see her, she falls asleep. She must have some kind of medical condition. It’s very odd. Our last session she fell asleep for close to 30 min. I had to cough and make a little noise to wake her because our session was ending. I never went back after that visit.

She was quick to get up from her couch and get me copay but tuned me out and fell asleep multiple times during session. Nice lady but i felt my issues were not something she could work with.

Terrible. Saw her for one session, and that was enough for me to go elsewhere! She fell asleep during my entire session! She kept dozing off and ignoring my trauma that I kept trying to tell her about, she was my first therapist I ever saw and just really disappointed me. It was truly bizarre, almost like she didn't even know she was falling asleep. Complete waste of my money and time, I don't know how she stays in business like this.

I saw Dr. Kossak briefly a few years ago for about a half dozen sessions. I ultimately decided to go elsewhere because of one simple, yet important, issue. She repeatedly fell asleep during my session! Years later, I just spoke to a friend who said she was seeing a therapist who kept falling asleep during her session - guess who it was? Yup, Dr. Kossak. She's a nice enough woman, but staying awake to listen to clients seems to me to be an essential element of being an effective therapist.
