Here to help you, not coddle
As a participant/ graduate of Mr. Shannon's treatment program, I can say with certainty that the investment will determine the outcome. Primarily, his programs deal with addiction issues, and, as such, participants are not always willing to fully address their conditions. Through a combination of empathy and, when necessary, harsh realities, Peter helps to facilitate an environment in which those who are a part can work through those conditions at their own speed. Simply put, if you want to play around and not do the work, don't expect timeliness or a cheap fix. I do know others who have used other addiction services in the area who have not had as effective results as have been shown in this program. If you truly want to get better, I would recommend Peter Shannon and his programs.

Very expensive! Not worth the cost difference compared to other programs. He uses his “power” to bully his clients to overpay and uses intimidation to keep everyone in line. Uses threats and intimidation very proficiently. The majority of the clients are forced into “treatment” and God help those who end up here!

All in all, Peter Shannon's counseling I GIVE AN A Plus. Peter holds you accountable as does the group members. You must contribute and do the work and be willing to have an open heart and mind. If you have a good attitude and listen, Peters program will give you the tools to succeed. No one is perfect, even Peter has a flaw or two. What a great opportunity this was for me, thank you Peter. Low survey marks are likely those who didn't do the work and had poor attitude and hung the program up.

I have just finished and graduated from Peter Shannon's treatment program. I believe this is one of the best programs in the state and Peter is recognized as a leader in his field. It is a challenging program as all life changing programs should be. I believe that I am a better man today than I was when I entered. If you are serious about healing, growing, and making serious changes in your life look no further. I highly recommend Peter to anyone who needs a treatment program. Good luck

Having Peter as a counselor for the last 3 years as been a very helpful experience. He is always there for his clients and will help them any way he can. A person cannot easily skate thru his sessions he will make a person work for everything and you get out of it what you put into it. He is fair but firm in his practice I would recommend him to anyone.

If you're looking for a counselor that will provide you with the tools, encouragement and accountability to work through difficult life challenges, Mr. Shannon is the one. Mr. Shannon won't give you a 'quick fix' or temporary patch up but he will help strengthen, equip and encourage you to face your battles and win. If you're really ready to put the work into lasting change, Mr. Shannon's the right person to go too. He's earned my respect.

I would not recommend Mr. Shannon to the general public as a councilor/therapist. Peter get's most of his business from convicted sex offenders under court order to use his services. In other words, these people either do what he says or they go to jail. Peter tends to take the approach he uses with his court ordered patients with those from the general public. He is defiantly not in this for the health and wellness of the regular public client. (I was a general public client)
