Therapist did not communicate any interest in me personally. Reflecting on our sessions, I picture her yawning and struggling to stay awake.

I saw this "counselor" at a family member's request for a single "session" (if one could call it that) in 2018. The family member was an ongoing patient. Patricia asked if I engaged in any self-harming behaviors and in response to my answer said: "[that behavior] is very common in victims of sexual abuse." To know knowledge, I was/am not a victim of sexual abuse. My family member never suggested this either. This comment sowed much confusion and I think about it often, even after 4 years. It seems wildly inappropriate and potentially damaging to suggest this to someone. My family member was a relatively long-term patient who enjoyed meeting with Patricia, but from what I know of her and from this meeting, I feel that she was unprofessional and did more harm than good to both of us.
