Wow. Months later…
The short version: after I gave this person a glowing face to face review, they started to hint in little ways that they “don’t specialize in trauma”. Meanwhile, the sole reason that I hired her was due to a medical trauma, and she was aware. Each session, she started to say it a little bit more insistently. This led to a crisis moment that could have gone very, very badly, but I had no idea if I still had a therapist or if she was going to quit on me because she had been hinting at it, and she wanted to open the next session with talking about why she was saying it. Claims that she would do a “warm handoff“ to another therapist turned out to be fruitless. As a result, I have been without counseling with two types of cancer in a pandemic for four months now. The only reason? Paige Bond.
