Never Again!
I just found out she’s out of network with my insurance, even though I asked before the visit and was told in network. So now I’m out $1020 for a short virtual visit with someone who was curt, didn’t help and I didn’t need! And I stopped the session when I realized she was adding notes about my mental health into the Weill Cornell connect portal which anyone working within this sprawling hospital system can access- a potential invasion of privacy! I’m furious.

She’s very moody. Doesn’t have a treatment plan and is very judgemental and makes you feel bad about yourself. She asks the same questions because she takes poor notes. She’s not very good at helping with pain issues or psychology.

Wise, kind, caring -- and wholly dedicated. If you're suffering with a chronic condition and are seeking help in how to manage the situation better and get on the path to regaining your footing in life, you owe it to yourself to set up an appointment. Highly recommended.

Dr. Sonty is the best thing that happened to me to help with my chronic pain issue and the strain it put on my physical and psychological health. I have been seeing Dr. Sonty since 2015 and the behavior changes and the personal growth I achieved are very visible. I can talk to Dr. Sonty about any issue facing me and she helps me explore it and arrive at an action plan to deal with it. This is the best part I like about seeing Dr. Sonty, she is really a CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapist). I get out of each session knowing what I need to do. When I have difficult situations between visits I can reach out to her over the phone. She really helped me take a look at my behaviors which may contribute to an undesired outcome in my life and examine what "I" can do to change this undesired outcome. She helped me realize I have control over my life by choosing how to respond to difficult situations. She is genial but also a no-nonsense therapist and expects you to respect the appointments times.

I can’t believe my good fortune having been recommended to Dr. Nomita Sonty at Columbia Pain Management. She is unique, insightful, thought provoking, and so humanly touching.

She was a little rude, very cold and not someone I would ever feel comfortable seeing on a regular basis
