Telehealth
I was diagnosed by Nilam with an unspecified mood disorder. She didn’t really believe the information I was giving her about my mood. She said it was more conscious decisions than impulsivity. She was concerned if I had stopped my medication (which #1 was prescribed as a baby dose and wouldn’t have had much change in my mood and #2 I expressed I wanted to stop the medication because I didn’t feel a difference) that I would go into psychosis. That being said, I questioned whether I’ve been misdiagnosed by her because why would that happen if you didn’t think something was wrong? I moved to a different state and sought out a doctor here. He immediately understood my concerns and diagnosed me correctly and gave me the medications I needed. It’s been a year now and my mood is now stable. Nilam wasn’t the best with listening and understanding; however, she did care about my life in general and we spoke of my classes and my future which was nice. So that’s what I mean about hit or miss.

I've been seeing Nilam for several months now and she's fantastic. She doesn't just prescribe meds and send you on your way - she takes time to talk with you, both about your mental health and just life in general. It seems that she cares not just for the patient but for the person, if that makes sense. I'm so happy to be under her care.
