Dr. Neli Marcheva, OD

My wife takes our kids to Dr. Marcheva for all their exams. She is very good with them, and our kids are comfortable around her. I have already recommended her to other friends and would do so to others, too.

Both my kids have been seeing her since they were babies. She is so kind and engaging with the kids- we look forward to our visits with her. My kids, my youngest especially, are a bit shy. However, they feel so comfortable in her office. She is very knowledgeable and super helpful. I have reached out to her outside of our yearly eye exams for different eye issues, and she has always made time to see us and helped us understand and deal with the issues. I tend to stress a lot about health issues and I always feel so much better after talking to her. One year, when she was on maternity leave, we had to see another doctor and the experience made me appreciate her that much more. I highly recommend her and there is no other doctor I would choose for my kids.

Dr. Marcheva clearly has deep knowledge and expertise. However, she is really pretty terrible with children patients. She doesn’t think about how to talk to them or in front of them. She has twice terrified my seven year old, and ignored him while he sobbed due to worry. I bet she’s fine with routine eye exams but if your kid has any other issues I’d recommend going to someone who knows how to support and connect with kids.
