Dr. Band has been my therapist for over 2 years, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. I had been to a few others, who told me things I already knew & left me feeling disillusioned. They didn't challenge me or add anything substantial to my own process of introspection, and I didn't feel like they were very engaging. I have multiple major traumas & PTSD, and I was going through an extremely severe phase of depression (w/ daily thoughts of suicide) when I decided to try therapy again. I was skeptical & distrusting going in, but I immediately felt that Dr. Band was empathetic, encouraging, and personable. I finally felt understood. Instead of telling me what to do or telling me what I want to hear, she's challenged me to strengthen my self-awareness & helps me to build trust in myself. We've done a few sessions of EMDR, which I've found to be powerful. Dr. Band is nonjudgmental, patient, reassuring, genuine & has always been there for me. I honestly trust her with my life.

My husband and I sought marriage counseling with Dr. Monica Band. I was deeply hurt and broken, after months of frequent criticisms and blatant disrespect, that included my husband’s open flirtation with other women. In a desperate attempt to save my marriage, we saw Dr. Monica Band on a weekly basis. My husband has the ability to appear pitiful and portray the image of the victim. It appeared that Dr. Monica Band believed his facade. I felt attacked in the counseling sessions, and when I attempted to describe very hurtful incidents that had taken place during that week, Dr. Monica Band responded by asking me what I gained from holding onto hurtful experiences. I tried unsuccessfully, to explain that the incident described, had taken place within that week. My husband loved this, as he was able to remain unaccountable for his inappropriate behavior, and reinforce his belief that I was much too sensitive and chose to be sad. Our marriage plummeted. The counseling was extremely damaging.
