Michelle shows minimal compassion towards those suffering from eating disorders, as she has explicitly stated that she doesn’t understand why anyone “wouldn’t gain 15-20lbs to make all of their problems go away.” Eating disorders aren’t about the weight or the food at their core, which is why this remark, along with others she has made, such as “residential [treatment] is a vacation,” are surprising coming from an ED clinician.
