Melissa Catton, NP

I was presenting to the ER because of random episodes with shortness of breath, heart palpitations, vision disturbances, dizziness, tremors, pre syncope, and racing heart. I was seen for maybe 3 minutes by Melissa Catton and she was very rude, rolling her eyes, and dismissing every symptom I would tell her. She refused to look into anything and said since my labs are good that it’s just anxiety and I need to see my primary. I felt like she didn’t believe anything I was saying so when she left she had the nurse come back in and unhook me from the monitor and told me to leave and wait in the waiting room for my husband. I ended up going to OSF to be seen and they took me serious, eventually they caught that my D DIMER was high and they kept me over night and finally figured out that it was my heart causing these episodes and it was making me anxious because I couldn’t control it. I am now on a medication (beta blocker) and the episodes have decreased. I wouldn’t recommend this provider.
