Very unprofessional. We were desperate for a therapist during Covid, and we hired Megan to work with my husband’s teenage son. At first she seemed like just what he needed, he suffered from mixed anxiety and depression, complex grief due to the recent loss of his mother, and Covid-19 amplifying everything. But her counter transference took off quickly, and it became clear about 4 months in that she was not addressing the underlying isssues (significant relational and emotional trauma) and vilifying my husband. My husband requested family sessions on many occasions, and she refused most of the time. Finally, my husband put his foot down and demanded a family session, which she refused on the ground that she hadn’t talked to my husband’s therapist yet. My husband ultimately terminated with her because she was unwilling to work with him at all, and she even went as far as telling my husband he didn’t wait long enough before starting to date me and that he must have known me while his wife was still alive, right in front of my husband’s son. Several minutes later, she charged his credit card for two sessions, one charge of which was not owed. Megan is not qualified to work with clients, in my opinion.
