Unprofessional, Detrimental to Children
Matt provided 'therapy' services to my 14 year old son for a month. A crisis event resulted in us looking for a therapist in our area, and we thought Matt would be a great fit because his use of gaming.However, after our son's second group experience, one of the pediatric clients committed suicide. Matt never helped my son process this huge event. My son had a difficult time opening up to Matt, often expressing that Matt would make comments that were judgmental. It's hard enough to get a teenager to open up, but to meet it with anything but acceptance is unacceptable.Matt abruptly discontinued my son as a client and informed our family via text message. There was no transition plan, no offer of referral, nothing. His reasoning was that my son was 'Therapeutically ODD' which isn't a thing. Also, his profile says he specializes in ODD behavior (which my son does not demonstrate), so it should not have been a problem regardless.Limited by character cap
