I would not recommend starting care with her. I have had psychiatrists that are caring and want the best for you. She is not one of them. She also does not have expertise or enough knowledge about adverse reactions to certain classes of medications or to being sensitive to withdrawal. She prescribed me a medication that in the wear off/withdrawal would cause extreme depression, and when I asked to meet with her, she was uncaring and unkind. It’s one thing to be busy and unavailable, it’s another thing to be completely cold to how a patient is feeling and provide zero solutions to a drug that THEY prescribed. In the past my psychiatrists have always found 10-15 min for a phone call if a medication was not going well, she could not. If you are someone with only some anxiety and is looking for an SSRI, and you’ve done well on SSRIs before, then she is adequate. But that is all, adequate. If you have any circumstances that fall outside the norm, or less common mental health disorders, do not trust that she will take care of your health and safety.

Martha is great!
Unfortunately these days it a rarity to find a mental health prescriber who is caring and determined to help manage. Martha is one of the few practitioners who takes the time and interest to help in any way she can. By far the best prescriber I’ve been treated by!
