Marnie Waxman, LCSW

Marnie is wonderful therapist - professional, kind, and empathetic. I saw her for a few years for help with depression and anxiety. She helped me through some of my hardest and darkest times and pushed me in the ways I really needed. I always felt like she listened and connected, and I always knew I could trust her. I’m so grateful for everything I gained and learned as her client.

My experience was very positive. I found Marnie to be extremely empathetic, and things that I was somewhat afraid/embarrassed to say was only met with understanding and completely without judgment. I quickly felt as though I could trust her and her comments only helped me reflect in a positive manor. I am quite satisfied and grateful.

I took my transitioning child to Ms.Waxman. It was the worst thing I could have done. Somehow we had a misunderstanding and she took it completely unprofessional. Instead of talking through it she just wants to prove she is right. There is no right or wrong in any of this. I hope people see this and do not go to her. I strongly believe she shouldn't be practicing and she could possibly be hurting already vulnerable individuals.

Marnie accused and shamed me on multiple occasions when I said something that hurt her ego. Her overall behaviour reminded me of my abusive parents. The first clear time was when she insisted she knew the "correct" transgender terminology, even though I used different terms for myself. Another time, she was reading something aloud and I didn't know why, so I asked, "wait, are you reading this to me? Why?" and she glared at me and said "I'm TRYING to help you. Why are you so confrontational?"
