August of this year will be 4 years that I’ve been a patient of Mark. Out of the the numerous psychiatrists I’ve given a shot with, he is by far the best I’ve had. Very knowledgeable and thorough with his questions to better understand what it is he can do to help. The first provider I’ve personally experienced that doesn’t prescribe pills for the money and believes that things can’t be fixed or start getting better solely with meds as well. Never once felt judged or like I wasn’t being heard. I’ve recommended Mark to multiple friends who have since switched from their current provider after meeting Mark. Have had multiple conversations over the years and feel I have a good understanding of his morals and where he comes from. Highly recommend giving him the opportunity to help while giving yourself the opportunity to meet a provider unlike any I’ve met before. 100% was and is a godsend in my life and thankful to have found him.

For patients living with and coping with trauma in their lives, this “practitioner” falls short of the basic duties of care. Even if you see him out of pure desperation, he will be unlikely to provide you the medical care you need, often telling his patients to simply “take a walk” instead of treating them for medical and chemical imbalances. He will discount the hardships you face as “not that bad” and that “you’re making a mountain out of a molehill.” Avera should categorically be ashamed to have him as a provider on their staff. If you are told to see him, please save yourself the headache annd heartache and request a different provider. Physicians in this practice are NOT obligated to use him and only him despite what they may tell you.
