Poor APRN
I had a distressing encounter with an inexperienced nurse practitioner. When I approached them about tapering off a benzodiazepine, they accused me of lying because they hadn’t specifically screened for a particular type of benzo in my system. Unfortunately, I’ve spent the last two years dealing with benzodiazepine withdrawal symptoms—a harrowing experience that led to psychosis and multiple seizures. I strongly advise against seeking care from this particular nurse practitioner. It’s crucial for healthcare providers to thoroughly understand drug metabolites to prevent potentially life-threatening situations.
