Marie Patton, RN

Very rude and unprofessional on the phone if you are an educated client who asks questions and knows something about the field. She does not do a thorough evaluation of the patient and will prescribe medication for children after only one phone call. Not a zoom call or video conference but a phone call for the child. Did not include the school in the diagnostic process, nor other living environments which would have made a world of difference. Does not use any other behavioral therapy across all environments before prescribing mind altering drugs. Takes children off from SSRI's cold turkey and asks the child if they want medication, not the adults in their lives. Very displeased with the lack of professionalism and skills.

I was a client of Marie Patton for about 3 years. I immediately felt comfortable with Marie's down-to-earth style. She always treated me as an equal human being just someone struggling with some depression and anxiety. I felt we were on the same page as to what my diagnosis was and best course of treatment(which also included weekly therapy with my therapist) unlike several doctors in hospital settings I went to few yrs ago, who more often than not claimed to have you all figured out and slap an erroneous diagnosis on you( bipolar bc I talk fast but no other symptoms) Worse still they never want to admit they may have got it wrong and the medication prescribed likely harmful...certainly not helpful. Marie was not willing to regurgitate a diagnosis some careless other provider gave. I knew they kept her busy and had to see alot of people in a short time, so I tried to keep the visit brief but usually inquired about 1 thing each time we met and she always took few min to discuss.

Maybe Marie Patton knows about treatment for addiction however she has no business treatment people with bipolar illness. She shows absolutely no understanding of bipolar disorder and its treatment. Sessions have been more about Marie than about the patient. Not professional!
