Telehealth
Despite it being a telemed visit she refused to take off her mask while she spoke to me via videoShe made me feel like a checklist and not a patient. I like to ask questions and make sure I understand all the information that a provider gives me, but she made me feel like I was a nuisance & & even sighed when I asked her to cover something again to make sure I understood the medication she was suggesting. Am I not allowed to fully understand the medication I’m putting into my body?! Looking at some of the few reviews that are positive are back from 6-7 years ago… anything more recent is rated a 2 or below (out of 5). Maybe this provider needs to take a break if she is burnt out and no longer has the capability of providing compassionate bedside manner & treat patients with respect. How often does ARC take a look at these reviews and ratings?

Go to anyone else, no stars were earned
If I could, this would be a no star review. The clinic is another one that you have to wait 8 weeks to get an appointment, and to get a physical the wait is 3.5 months. My first and only appointment was awful. This provider is rude, condescending and instead of asking me any helpful questions, notes that I am a poor historian. She did not review any health history, provide any assistance with medication names (I am not good at remembering names) and instead, got more and more impatient and nasty. She could not be bothered to be in the room more than 10 minutes.

Short Visit
I went to get my annual appointment, which is free through my insurance. I brought up my rosacea flare ups and asked for a new prescription. She didn't even actually see my face thoroughly just wrote off for a prescription that was almost $200. I didn't even pick it up. On her notes she added things that she didn't even check on my body. In the end I ended up with a bill of of $100 for doing nothing!! Now, I have a bill for lab work? when did this happen? Looking for a new NP. My last Dr. resigned and didn't charge me anything for my rosacea, let alone an expensive prescription. Don't waste your time. I was in and out in like 5 min.

Terrible Experience
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a medical provider. She was completely unsympathetic to my pain and treated me as if I were drug seeking (I never asked her to refill my previous pain prescription). She even documented my file with the lie that I had asked her nurse for a refill. I did not, just merely stated that my normal pharmacy in the file was changed because it did not carry the pain medication prescribed to me by an actual doctor the week before. I very clearly stated that I did not care about the pain medicine and only wanted an answer to what was causing the pain. I would advise anyone seeking medical attention to steer clear of her. I wish I could give less than 1 star.

Zero Empathy
This provider has zero empathy for patients. She quickly dismissed my symptoms and only ordered labs because I asked. It seemed as if she didn’t want to help find out a solution to my problems and only wanted me in and out of the room as fast as possible.

Margaret was incredibly rude to me. I kept my mask on the entire time, even when no one was in the room (as they asked me to). When I began telling her about a problem inside/outside my nose, I pulled my mask down to point to the places on/in my nose that were bothering me, and she freaked out and told me to put my mask on or she would have to get the office manager. This took me by surprise, and I quickly pulled the mask up. Then, she took three steps closer toward me and asked me to pull my mask down so that she could look at my nose. I asked her many questions about my health, and she did her best to not answer one of my questions. She would rephrase my questions and did not want to answer any of my basic health questions about the different things she was telling me. She asked me if I had too much caffeine that morning because I appeared "flustered" when asking her questions. She left the appointment early, and I had to wait 20 minutes for her to return to finish the appointment.

Agree with many of above comments: not friendly, doesn't offer information, terse response to questions, no patient teaching (which is the primary reason I selected an NP vs. a physician for this visit - I am a RN). I like efficiency, yet she seemed determined not to spend a second more than necessary with me. And, gloves do not substitute for handwashing!!! On the plus side, she is clinically competent.

Margaret Hemmen failed to provide quality care and education for a new patient during an annual physical health assessment last week. This office failed to call the medications prescribed into the pharmacy. Leaving the patient without vital medications over the weekend. This led to the patient having to call the pharmacy multiple times for clarification raising blood pressure exacerbating the patient's condition. Margaret Hemmen failed to provide quality education on preventative measures for the patient to take. Margaret Hemmen did not provide thorough information on a diet that would lower the patient's risk. The office failed to educate the patient on patient portal use and access to lab results. Margaret Hemmen failed to educate the patient on side effects on the medications prescribed that would need to be reported. If I could give Margaret Hemmen 0 stars I would.

Poor bedside manner. Rushed me and didn’t answer questions thoroughly. Patronizing tone. Spent less than 4 minutes with me before pushing me out the door!

I have seen her multiple times when other providers are booked.. She seems to be in a hurry to get out of the exam room with as little effort on her part as possible. Only really wants to treat symptoms and not interested in exploring underlying causes.. She is a good choice if you already know why you're sick and in need of a test or prescription (for strep, for example) otherwise, there are better choices of providers at ARC. Easy scheduling online.
