Lynn Gordon, LCSW

I only lasted 3 sessions with Lynn. She was kind and welcoming, but she very quickly started to speak to me in a way that I thought psychologists understand to be extremely ineffective. She pathologized, diagnosed (even though I wasn't looking for a medical diagnosis), and she made generalizations that were condescending, such as "You have mother issues." She questioned a lot of what I wanted to talk about. It alienated me and I still can't understand how a trained therapist could make these mistakes.

I'm saying this now after having seen Lynn got about a year and a half during a very difficult period in my life when I wasn't very receptive to therapy, she's a great psychotherapist. I've since gotten medicated with another psychiatrist (I have MDD), but how she was able to break down my patterns of behavior for me to understand had helped me become more mindful and empathetic to those around me. She also never lost patience with me. I would recommend.
