Was not helpful in explaining. Did not prep for our meetings. I asked how to get assessed for BPD followed by watching her look through her DSM-5 for 5 minutes, asking me if I agreed to the symptoms and then labeled me as having BPD. She could not answer what the difference was between that, and me reading the symptoms online and agreeing. She cancelled twice within our first two meetings. I recommend looking elsewhere unfortunately.

She claimed to use the CBT approach though never used it in our sessions. She solely relied on casual conversations, which I had told her to refrain from, yet she still did. During our sessions, she would barely engage. When she did engage in conversation, she repeatedly gave me unhelpful phrases/advice in response to my serious thoughts. The advice she gave me is equivalent to those who don't have any education in psychology. She also spent most of the session reading from a coping strategy list which I felt was intentionally done for the sake of wasting time/money. Her diagnosis was invalidating as she claimed that my "mild" issue is common for my age and not serious, despite sharing dangerous thoughts and intent. She recommended a low rated psychiatric facility because of an affiliation with them. The cherry on top is her ignoring my emails after I stopped sessions for papers, and responded by saying I had to pay for a session to get them. Please avoid this incompetent counselor.
