Traumatized by this PA
I was told when I made my appointment that I would be seeing a NP. I have had very positive experiences with NP's in the past, so I was looking forward to getting competent help at my appointment. Instead, I got a woman who explained nothing to me, and just confused me. I asked if she was a NP, and she got very defensive, stating loudly that she was just as qualified as a NP and had the same education. That's just not true. It got worse from there. She told me to lie down and she examined the area that I was having problems with. She yelled that the source of the condition was 'SO HUGE!!!' over and over again. I was humiliated and terrified. She referred me out to a specialist with not so much as a word about why she was doing so. She did not explain the risks of my condition, nor the risks of seeing this mysterious specialist she was referring me out to. Other than terrifying me and humiliating me in front of an assistant that was watching, I left feeling worse than when I got there.
