Lisa Ryan, NP

I had a very bad experience with Lisa Ryan worse than any other medical provider. I found her on Psychology Today adv as a Psychiatrist when she is not. She is a Nurse Practitioner and not a very knowledgeable one and is charging a lot of money which i was initially willing to pay. However, She was unfriendly and even hostile towards me and said she wasn't comfortable working with me and couldn't help me because of my health problems and the supplements I'm on prescribed by my naturopathic doctor. I agreed that we did not seem to be a good fit and then she demanded payment even though we had only been on the call for 15 minutes! I spent hours to get that apt filling out all the paperwork she wanted. I feel like my time was wasted and that she did not help me at all. I do not feel I owe her anything for the 15 minutes she spent with me on the phone with me as it was a bad experience, she was unkind and rude and I did not receive any help. Read her other reviews! Kind, patient, and compassionate. She listens like a therapist and is willing to discuss medication options, including your option to not take meds at all. She presents peer-reviewed studies of the meds she prescribes so you can do as much or as little additional research as you want. I would highly recommend her to anyone dealing with depression during or after pregnancy. I’ve never had medication management with the additional support like Lisa offers. She never rushes an appointment and she doesn’t get offended if you want to discuss what she has prescribed.

6 years and she didn't help me, today I'm great and on the proper meds.

Lacks emotional bedside manner. Seems somewhat uninterested and indifferent to my situation. Did not feel comfortable with Lisa's rapid decease in my dosage of a controlled substance - and when I spoke of my concern she would not reconsider.Five to ten minutes or so and she is rushing you out of the office. Took a leap of faith being I respect Nurse Practitioners, but now I don't believe that NP's should be practicing Psychiatric Medicine. I will be going back to qualified Psychiatric MD.
