When I told her that I was thinking about family planning and learned that I was in therapy for anxiety and depression, she told me that I "better straighten all that out" before I considered having children. I also told her that I was vegan and when I left, I was given a diet sheet (as part of the standard"welcome" to the practice, I suppose), and it recommended that I eat meat, dairy, etc. She was a bit more than tone deaf, IMO.

I saw Leanne for a yearly gynecological exam, and I am definitely going to see someone else next year. She was nice enough, and giving her the benefit of the doubt, she may not have been as attentive as I expected because she had a student with her and so was teaching at the same time. However, she didn't ask me any questions about my reproductive plans, problems at home, etc. - all standard questions at my previous gynecologist. She also was not very gentle - she moved the speculum around several times trying to get it in the right place in a very uncomfortable way, and also gave me no clear warning before the manual exam. I am writing this review to warn any women who may have been assaulted, because I can see her approach being very triggering. Also, to cap it off, the only print-outs she sent me home with were diet advice when we had not discussed my diet or weight AT ALL. See someone else if you need to discuss anything or want to be treated with consideration.

I was worried about meeting Leanne as I had some issues with other midwives in the practice and I looked at her reviews on this website and that scared me. I went in with an open mind. She did not disappoint. She talked to me like I was a friend, she was pleasant and sat down in the room to answer my questions. When I didn't have many, she brought up some topics to see if I could think of any questions. She then offered me to call my husband or record the babies heartbeat. She was a pleasure.
