I was referred by my VA to Lauren Cowan. Due to the fact I have been suffering from pain and weakness in my legs. I have been suffering from the pain for about 12 years and went to many specialist and no one could tell me why. One dr told me Lyme disease one said MS. I had been through many tests, alot of brain scans and several MRIs. When we met with her she listened to me and my wife. Her first thing was did I ever have a MRI of my neck. I told her no I had never had that surprisingly after 12 years of tests. So I went and got it done. Next visit changed my life. She told me that several vertebraes were compressing my spinal cord which explained my symptoms. She referred me to neurosurgeon for surgery consult. I can not explain the appreciation my wife and I have for her. She found what at least 10 specialist could not find. I only went to help with my constant pain but this wonderful person changed my life. She is my angel on earth. I would recommend her to everyone.

Lauren Cowan falsified my chart saying I made a statement I did not make. The statement she put in my chart is now permanently there for other doctors to see which made it sound like I was drug seeking, which is far from accurate. So now I can permanently ruin her reputation and name by writing this review along with taking other actions. She lacks expertise, as well as professionalism and empathy. Do yourself a favor and find someone who doesn't treat you like a nuisance.

Very very poor patient communication and assessment!! Never listened to my situation and experience with other pain treatments and issues over the past 5-10 years before treating me as a drug addict. I needed to find a doctor to simply continue my prescription for pain meds after my current prescribing doctor took a new position and was no longer my doctor. This facility put me on medication that I’d already told them caused me problems in the past and wouldn’t listen when I reached out in between appointments to mention concerning side effects I was having. They would not consider that maybe I really am not a criminal drug addict and have a good reason for needing the medication. This nurse in particular communicated with me about medication by saying “ based on evidence” they will not prescribe opioids. I feel this phrase was very inappropriate making me feel like I am a criminal and have done something wrong. There is no evidence of me ever abusing or misusing any prescription.
