I had contact her to gather information for help with my daughter. She was very knowledgeable and caring with talking to me on the phone. She listen to my concerns And gave some suggestions.

Laureen has truly helped transform our daughter from someone who could just get out a few words into a beautiful communicator. We are so grateful for all of the extra effort she puts into her work with her - she is clearly passionate about this work and goes above & beyond. She is warm, professional and, most importantly, effective. We have had others work with our daughter but no one comes close to engaging her on the same level and getting the type of results we are seeing because of Laureen. She also helps us up our game and takes time to make sure we know what we can also be doing to ensure our child's growth. She is an advocate for our daughter in every sense of the word and I could not be more grateful for her presence in our lives.

Completely unprofessional. We had an evaluation done for my child and were uncomfortable with the frequency she suggested for visits (3x per week). When I started showing some hesitation, she sent harassing texts and voicemails. She made it clear that if we didn’t take her advice with the 3 sessions per week we would not be giving my child the help desperately needed. Next she started to bully me over the insurance copay for the evaluation! Asking for DOUBLE what my insurance said that we should pay her! So glad that she is no longer in our lives! Stay far far away!

Laureen joined our family Christmas week and she was the best gift a family can ask for. My son is developmentally delayed and despite all of our interventions since he was 3 months old he is now a 2nd grader with global learning disability , Laureen is Amazing . She spends countless hours planning with us and her own time planning new ways to implement research based reading techniques to unlock Ricky’s true potential . The most wonderful part of working with Laureen is she has taught me how to help my son and I will be forever thankful . Laureen is a integral part of my sons growth and I highly recommend her .

DO NOT have Laureen come to your home to “evaluate” your child. My husband and I filled out pages and pages of questions about our 2 year old son for his minor speech delay (first child). Within 10 mins of her arrival Laureen asks me “so are you going to hire me or what?” I told her I was going to talk to my sons pediatrician before making a final decision because she charges $100 a session and suggested 3 sessions a week. Laureen flew off the handles in text messages to me when I told her that. It’s been one month since she’s been to my home and she has absolutely harassed me for weeks even on weekends with constant calls, texts, left voicemails even emailed me at 3:00am Sunday morning looking for payment that does not coincide with what insurance is telling me to pay. Oh the write up she did about my son was everything that me and my husband filled out about him plus ridiculous rude observations she had because we took our pediatricians advice over hers. Biggest waste of nearly $300.

Laureen came into our son’s life when he was having an extremely difficult time reading, sounding words out and he was well below grade level when it came to this subject. Our son, not even a year later, is reading at grade level, decoding words on his own and is no longer looking for prompts from others when he is reading. Laureen attended my son's CSE meeting and made her report readily available and was persistent in another more specific test be performed so that my son could get the correct services. Ms. Curry is now like one of our family members -she can be intense, but if she wasn't our son would have NEVER made the progress he has made.

I would recommend Laureen as a speech pathologist to anyone needing such services. My daughter is currently working with her and they get along well. She really enjoys and looks forward to the appointments each week and it is helping her dramatically. She is beginning to speak much slower and fluently and is less nervous and self conscious in school and when speaking to other people.

Very unpleasant experience. Found her to be rude and unprofessional. My son had minor speech issues that he eventually grew out of. She made it sound like he had a major learning disorder.

Laureen has been a true asset to our family. She has directly helped my four year old daughter who experiences dysfluency and has given us clear, effective and diverse strategies to work with her as well. My daughter gets very excited when Laureen comes over "to play," and truly enjoys spending time with her. Laureen is flexible to coordinate appointments and she is highly qualified in her field.

I would not recommend Laureen Curry to anyone! Keep her away from your children and your family. While I would say she there were certain aspects of her SLT that were ok, she is completely unprofessional, demeaning, and rude. She talked to both myself and my husband as though we are idiots (we have MAs in education and psych, definitely not idiots). She was overly rude to us, and way overstepped her bounds. Icing on the cake was when she tried to steal from our insurance by charging extra sessio

Laureen just started working with our son and in that short period of time we have seen a great change in him. His excitement and enthusiasm for learning is such a wonderful thing to experience. Her knowledge of assessment tools for therapy and her engaging imagination is an inspiration.

Laureen has worked with our son since he was two. Even at that age, she recognized that his spoken words did not match his ability. In a caring and effective manner, she was able to guide us and our son so that he has been able to excel in school. More recently, almost ten years later, we reached out again, to rely on Laureen to assist our son in developing his writing skills. He loves working with her and he is now participating in Johns Hopkins CTY. Laureen is extremely qualified in her field.

Laureen has been a godsend. Our adopted son was born with a cleft lip and palate. He has adapted well, but we underestimated challenges in speech development and learning. We kept hearing he is doing well, his speech is a bit behind but he will catch up. But that has not been the case. Laureen has opened our eyes about his about his speech and learning needs. Our son adores her and enjoys the sessions, plus Laureen explains how to work with your child on their speech and retrieval skills.

Our son was adopted from China with significant hearing loss and speech delays. He is making rapid gains working with Laureen. My wife (an elementary teacher) commented recently that Laureen's advanced strategies to get new sounds from him are well beyond what teachers typically are trained in. We would be happy to speak with you if you are considering speech therapy for your children. Please contact Laureen for our contact information. Thanks.
