Dr. Laura Riss, PSY.D

Dr. Riss is an amazing therapist. She has a way of making you feel heard and not judged. It's nice to feel like a person, and that your concerns are valid. I love that she takes her time during appointments, so you never feel like you are being rushed. As someone who has struggled with finding a therapist who cliques with my personality, I would recommend Dr. Riss 100%. She is someone you can trust. If you trust the process that she gives you and put in the work, you will definitely see results. Just be patient with yourself.

I would honestly give Dr. Riss an infinite number of stars. I have worked with her both individually and in groups for many years now and she has had a huge impact on my life. She is compassionate, listens carefully to what you have to say and connects on a personal level. Patient and practical as well as caring, she teaches skills for coping with the challenges of life. If it matters to you, she is even willing to explain the neuroscience behind her recommendations. :-) I suffer from depression and an eating disorder, and I believe that she has given me my life back. Not by making everything seem rosy, but by teaching me what I need to handle its ups and downs.

I was recommended to Dr Riss over a year ago when I asked I for help with eating disorder. Little did I know that she wouldn't just help me with my eating disorder, but she would also help me to change my life. I am learning to make mistakes, love myself, accept myself, set boundaries, and be a better version of me. I was not prepared for the impact Laura has made in my life. She inspires me to keep challenging my beliefs and create a life I am growing to love. She taught me that recovery and healing is a continual journey, to appreciate the small incremental improvements that stays with me. I am learning to trust my abilities to adapt and succeed. The biggest lesson she taught me is that I am enough.

She is wonderful! She is patient, thoughtful, and caring. She listens and asks for clarifications. Much better than previous experiences. I don't feel like she's looking for a box to put me in. She really listens.

Dr. Riss is the warmest, kindest, most sincere therapist I have ever had. She's high energy, uplifting and fun. To top it off, she's very intuitive and offers great ideas for coping skills that really work. I learned so much from her individual therapy as well as her group art therapy. She truly cares for each of her patients and wants nothing but for them to succeed. Can't recommend her enough!
