Laura Hickman, PMHNP

Dr Hickman has helped me with my bipolar and ADHD. I have been working with her for about two years now. She has been very patient and takes the time to explain my challenges and thought processes. I'm not the best with words but I will say that the support she has provided is critical to my development and improvement.

Laura is compassionate, intelligent and really listens to what is going on in your life so that she can get the whole picture of what you need. It's apparent she cares about her patients. I have never had a psychiatrist spend that much time with me. As a nurse practitioner, Laura is extremely qualified to see and treat people with psychiatric and mental health disorders. I am so glad I found her and I am under her care. I highly recommend her.

Laura is a wealth of information! She is kind, empathetic, energetic, smart. She has really helped our family and my 15 year old! I would recommend her and have recommended her. Telemedicine is an excellent option! I am thankful my daughter met her in person a few times but now it's so convenient to do Telemedicine. The great thing about Nurse Practitioners are they listen and truly care, and have years of experience!

Being new to Arizona this past year, it was really important to try to find the best psychiatric provider possible to help me maintain and improve my medication plan. I researched provider lists, experience, specialties and services available in the Phoenix area and was so relieved to find my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Laura Hickman! Within a few appointments, she helped me with some testing to help decide the medicines to continue and the best dosage for each. She’s been a great listener and I always feels like she sincerely cares and wants to understand completely what my challenges are like day-to-day before she explains a recommendation and considers my suggestions. Laura has always been respectful and kind at every session and has always been generous with her time and effort to work through any difficult issues or decisions. Even though Laura is out-of-network for me, the added support and progress from her practice makes her fees very reasonable. Laura is A+.

Horrible. Expensive. Didn't listen when I talked, she kept asking the same questions multiple times. Very expensive for a nurse.

Hickman has inflated prices related to credentials. Punitive. Unwilling to fulfill legitimate professional requests. Did more harm than good. I regret seeing her.

Horrible woman and Nurse Practitioner. She is dishonest and unprofessional...charges Psychiatrist prices for someone who is not even a Psychiatrist, but just a nurse! Went to her for medication management for something which I've been on for over 16 years...one med, which she took me off of in 2 visits, and tried to get me drug free, knowing of my stress and anxiety. Don't go to her!! She wasted my time and my money to fill her own pockets!! She lied to me.. when I disagreed she called the cops!

Ranks in my top worst for this type of evaluation.

She is a wonderful listener, and the fact that she gives necessary and welcoming input is nice.
