I needed help for what a cardiologist later told me was 'a textbook case' of neurally mediated hypotension, just orthostatic intolerance that has gotten progressively worse over my lifetime. Laura told me straight up on two successive visits that tilt table tests have been discredited. Very much untrue! What should've been an easy diagnosis was misdiagnosed and I got no help. She's bounced from cardiac care to ER to family medicine now. When she saw me in the ER, she missed the fact that heavy duty pain meds I was given had taken effect, obviously why I seemed disheveled and slurring my speech. But I'd come straight from the office -- after days in critical pain from a disk. It seems just sloppy to me. I didn't get the help I needed seeing her either time. I couldn't have the confidence to entrust her with my primary care.
