Lara Rivera, CNM

Lara is the best women's health, obstetric provider and midwife I have ever had. She is an excellent listener, down to earth, genuine, honest, and caring. She is highly educated and knowledgable on her speciality. She supported me during my first pregnancy and delivery. I never felt rushed during my appointments or during my hospital stay. She addressed my concerns and provided excellent education. She comforted me during difficult situations and presented all possible options while supporting my decisions. As a military spouse, we move around a lot and I always do research on potential healthcare providers. After watching Lara's video on the LMH website, I knew she would be the right provider for me. I was even more impressed by her when we met in person. It saddens me that we will be leaving Lawrence because I wish she could be my midwife during future pregnancies and care. If you are looking for a midwife, make an appointment with Lara. You will be happy you did!

Lara is an amazing and wonderful CNM. She is extremely empathic and perfect for the person who is nervous about OB/GYN visits, and who wants to discuss their options. I love that Lara is inclusive too. You can feel very relaxed around her, and you don’t have to feel nervous about asking her for any help you need.

I saw Lara for the duration of my pregnancy and she was awesome. I had silly questions but also this was my first baby. She answered them all and made sure I knew it was ok to ask any questions. She is the best provider I have even seen. Very caring and intelligent.

I felt very judged by Lara. These first moments are to be the happiest. When I reflect back on my discharge day it’s clouded with her disparaging language about my baby’s weight and my recovery circumstances.

I had Lara for my second pregnancy and as much as I liked my first doctor at LMH I wish I would of had her for my first pregnancy. She is amazing in every phase of pregnancy, woman care, and if your struggling to get pregnant. Which I had experience with all three and having her in my corner made the good times amazing and the unfortunate ones bearable. She made me feel comfortable and listened to every question concern and comment I had on any topic. She was fun and reassuring during my second pregnancy and birth. I went into labor a month early and not once did I feel scared or unsure that she wasn’t going to do everything for me and my child and was going to give me every option available and make whatever happen to make me my husband and my baby safe and comfortable. I can not say enough amazingly great things about her as a person and a physician. No matter your birth plan preferences (natural or medicated) Lara will give you all your options and support whatever you choose.

I found Lara when I was pregnant with my first and my family is so very lucky to have her. She is so kind and caring during every single appointment and never rushed. Lara genuinely cares for each and every patient, her knowledge and experience is remarkable and has such a good team working alongside her.

Lara was recommended to me when I found out I was pregnant with my fourth child; choosing her as my provider was the best decision I could have made. Lara never rushed appointments. She listened to every word I had to say, never brushed off my concerns, and made herself available outside of appointment times. She supported my decisions and respected my wishes through my pregnancy, labor, and delive. Lara was also genuinely interested in my family. We moved again after my daughter was born. I cried after my last appointment with Lara because she was so wonderful. Lara strikes the rare balance of being personable, friendly, and not taking herself too seriously while also being a consummate professional. Although the care I received during my first three pregnancies was superb, my fourth pregnancy, labor, and delivery was the best overall experience because of the care Lara provided me, my baby, and my family.

I absolutely loved seeing Lara during the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I was devastated having to find a new midwife after leaving Lawrence. She made me feel comfortable, reassured, and was incredibly knowledgable. She answered all of my questions and made me feel like I was her only patient (I never felt rushed)! I would highly recommend her and would have been over the moon if I had the option to stay in her care during my entire pregnancy.

I'm new to Lawrence and had to find a local physician for a well-woman checkup and I had a great experience with Lara and the rest of the staff at the Lawrence OB/GYN Specialists. The check-in process was very smooth, the facility was modern and clean, I had plenty of time to talk with my nurse and physician, and my labs came back super fast (you don't even have to leave the building for blood work). Super service, excellent experience. Highly recommend.

Lara was excellent. During my visit she was very informative toward birth control options, allowed me to ask questions, and had a very approachable attitude. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for CNM in the area.

I was fortunate enough to attend a prenatal appt & the birth of our first granddaughter. I immediately liked the fact that Lara was always focused on my daughter & her needs. There was a birth plan in place & Laura made sure she did everything in her power to follow her plan. As things progressed during the birth, Lara was there supporting her & praising her with her neverending smile & positive attitude. I ?? how Lara was present & available for the majority of my granddaughter's birth.

My first visit to this office was fast and comfortable. Lara is very pleasant as a care provider. She acts with kindness and professionalism and I felt comfortable discussing my health with her. She seemed very attentive and receptive to details. I sensed that she genuinely cares about providing great care to her patients. I'm glad to have found a provider in the area who can attend to my women's health needs in such a competent and personable manner.

Lara had a fantastic bedside manner. She is not my regular midwife, but when mine was full I saw her for a prenatal appointment and she sat down and reviewed my birth plan and got to know me just in case she's on call when I deliver!

We have wonderful memories of our pregnancy and Lara is a crucial part of those memories. My husband and I were lucky enough to have Leslie, Rebecca AND Lara by our sides through that journey. When the big day and BIG moment finally arrived, our son practically shout through the air. Lara caught him. It was insane. Quick hands McGee! ;) Lara "catches babies" Rivera delivered that day. My family is grateful and healthy, nearly 4 years later.

Lara was incredibly kind and professional! I saw her for an IUD insertion and it was a very comfortable environment. Would definitely recommend for any woman's needs!

I had the pleasure of meeting Lara when I was pregnant with my second child. She always greeted me enthusiastically with her big beautiful smile and caring demeanor. Just what I needed during those hard months of pregnancy. She actively listened to my concerns and helped me so much during pregnancy. I had a beautiful birth experience because of her and I still get teary eyed when I see her about town because it brings back such great memories of my son's birthday, which was possible b/c of Lara.

I can't say it enough, Lara is simply AMAZING! From pre pregnancy to the day we left the hospital with our sweet little girl, Lara was there for us every step of the way. I had a very natural birth plan which Lara advocated for me from beginning to end. She was at my side and hands on through my labor giving me advice and support through it all. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful birth thanks to her! We will definitely be returning to Lara for our next and will continue to recommend her

My experience with Lara was so wonderful. She was so easy to talk to and explained everything I needed to know about my procedure. I was nervous and she helped me understand the procedure and ease my nerves.

Lara Rivera is professional and caring! Her smiling face and calm attitude made my daughter's first GYN experience a non-threatening, warm, caring visit. She educates her patients and families without talking down to them. She uses age-appropriate language and involves the patient in the discussion. She lays out all the options and supports the patient in their decision making process. She truly cares for her patients and their families. LOVE her and would recommend her!
