Lanny Douglas, APRN

I've been a client of Lanny's for over 15 years. He is hands down the finest mental health practitioner I've ever known. Lanny is highly knowledgeable and unusually empathetic, and his welcoming personality makes for easy conversation. Wish I'd found him sooner.

Lanny Douglas was the 2nd psych I went to (the first was useless) after my son’s death and my ex leaving me when I was out of town, in 2013, taking most of my money with him. I was devastated. He prescribed a mood stabilizer, Lamotrin, which helped me stop “looping” without any side effects, and I poured my heart out to him. He helped me put my life back together. I don’t know about the other doctors at the Depression Bipolar Clinic, but Lanny Douglas helped me save my own life and feel joyful again. I wish he was a little more available, but busy just means a lot of people must like him.

I've been seeing Lanny for almost 15 years. He listens and adjusts medication as needed. I'm the most stable I have ever been.

When I first moved to FC I need to find a psychiatrist that worked with my insurance. He had me right some stuff down and talked to me for 1 hour and diagnosed me as bipolar. 7 other psychiatrists have given me the DX for anxiety disorder. Which is real. They are all MD's. So he had me take BP medication which put me into a suicidal spin for 2 years. No matter what I said, he wouldn't listen to me. He said I has having manic attacks. Manic attacks are supposed to be fun, I don't know, I'm not BP. Panic attacks are different, it feels like you can't breath, your having a heart attack, lips, hands and feet would go numb. I told my hubby, I can't stay here. We moved to Houston, TX where I met Dr. Chomie (not sure I spelled that right), she's a chemist. She told me I was not BP & have a complex chemistry. I was on probably 5 bipolar drugs. She put me on a Tricyclic and slowly started taking me off of all BP drugs. She literally saved my life, I now only have a panic attacks 2-3 times a yr.

Always get the best care from Lanny. I highly recommend!! Been seeing him over 10 years. The best of the best!!
