Dr. Kyung Hong, OD

Our entire family uses Dr Hong. He is the best!! We have been going him to him for several years.

I traveled an hour up to Dr. Hong's location at the West Farms Mall because he is an excellent Doctor, very intelligent and highly skilled in his field! He gave a very thorough eye exam and prescribed the precise right perscription for my glasses. I was extremely anxious and he put me at ease with his professional manner and expertise. I would highly recommend Dr. Hong if you want to go to a Doctor that is very intelligent and knows what he is doing! He has my full trust!

Went to Dr. Hong's Costco office when he was at Costco Enfield, and never went back to my Eye Dr. of 20 years. It seems that 95% of office visits are now done by 'TECHS" who after there 6 month's of school & 1500 hours of supervised training are equipped to preform ALL TESTING on your eyes. Not knocking these techs, but I want someone who went too Medical School to preform these tests, and that's why see Dr. Hong. My last Eye Dr. spent 3.5 minutes with me on my last visit, then rushed off for his next patient. Dr. Hong is a Throwback to a time when taking Pride in your work Mattered, and by him doing all the tests personally I was treated with the respect a patient should receive. Dr. Hong's may have a dry whit, but he takes his profession seriously and more importantly, is Very Smart. If you need to find out what's going wrong with your vision, or just need a regular checkup then Dr. Hong is the only person you should see in the Hartford/Springfield area.

Dr Hong's comes off a bit pompous, condescending and at times seems impatient. His service is competent, nothing to rave about, so I'm simply baffled as to why his practice is in a great establishment as Costco? So would I ever return - absolutely not. I would only recommend seeing him if you don't care about good service.

I am a Dr. Hong fan. He has taken care of my scrips for years and provides me with excellent customer service. Never has he been rude or condescending, not once.

I travel from Enfield to New Britain to see Dr. Hong, even though there is a Costco in Enfield. My exams take longer because I have floaters, but he is always patient, and never rushes me. He lets me trial my contact lenses, and if I don't like them, he lets me trial as many pairs as I need to, to get the right pair. He answers all my questions, without getting impatient. He was my Dr. in Enfield, now New Britain, and any where else in the state he may go.

Needed new script for contacts and went to him because we are always at Costco and have always been happy with customer service there. Found him to be condescending, to the point where I thought every answer I gave would bring an insult or snide comment. His care was competent, but not exceptional enough to go back for another visit. I would not recommend seeing him.
