Uses Unnecessary Restraint
Physically restrained my kid without a good reason. Should be fired!

Nightmare!
What a nightmare experience. How is this woman even allowed to work with kids?! Doesn’t listen, can’t control herself, actually yelled at a parent for asking a simple question, plays the victim and doesn’t take responsibility. My thirteen year old has more sense and self-control.

Nope
Everyone has their off days but it becomes a problem when off-days are everyday and they impact performance. Kristi struggled with at-work meltdowns, sometimes in front of my child and other students, was quick to anger, had panic and anxiety attacks in class, and would occasionally get into loud heated arguments on the phone (for all to hear). I felt for her and whatever she was going through but emotional management is an important skill for educators working with at-risk kids and the workplace is an inappropriate environment for that level of personal drama.

Arrogant and disrespectful. Shouldn’t work with disabled kids.

Kristi worked with my disabled son a few years ago. She seems to mean well but lacks basic knowledge about working with at-risk kids and under resourced families. For example, she would gate-keeps instead of facilitate, and quite a few issues with control. She also struggles to manage her emotions, particularly anxiety, which is a must for working with difficult kids. I saw the other review about inappropriate boundary-crossing and we had similar issues. Her biggest downfalls are her combination of arrogance and ignorance. Teachers who don't/won’t listen and think they are doctors and psychiatrists are dangerous. She desperately needs more oversight and professional development. She is easier to work with when she’s not overwhelmed, but that’s rare; maybe she’s in the wrong vocation? I know firsthand how hard it can be to find support for kids who have behavioral struggles, and their families but if you have alternatives, my advice is to steer clear.

We had a horrible experience. Ms. Bean created a lot of unnecessary problems for our family. She tried to diagnose our child with a condition she was unqualified to determine, then she shared that inaccurate diagnosis with my kid’s school against our wishes. It took months for us to get a qualified diagnosis from an actual medical professional and have our child’s IEP fixed.
