I thought Ms. Camp did an outstanding job at my appointment today. She was am attentive listener, gave me treatment options for multiple skin issues and performed two procedures for me during the same appointment. Was extremely satisfied with her professionalism, knowledge, and attentiveness.

I saw Katelyn at Mayo Rochester for evaluation of a possible melanoma. I was very concerned. I found her to be extremely kind and highly competent. She quickly assessed the situation and then brought in one of the dermatologists for a second opinion. I was relieved to learn that I did not have a melanoma. She gave me a very clear explanation and very specific instructions for follow up. I felt that I received excellent and compassionate care. I would highly recommend her and would be happy to return for future care.

I was offered 3 treatment options for acne. 1 was a oral antibiotic. We had already established my acne is hormonal & goes in waves w/ cycle. I asked if any good effects would continue after stopping the med, considering my acne is hormonal. She said no. why was this offered in the first place?Made me question her listening skills & knowledge. Next option was spironolactone. I said yes.I later learned that the breast enlargement I was having is a common effect of this med. It says clearly in my chart that I have had a breast reduction— so NOT a side effect I was willing to deal with. No warning was provided. in the note she wrote in my chart she claimed to have educated me about side effects, risk, benefits about the treatment I accepted. SHE DID NOT-highly unethical. The note claimed she told me about hyperkalemia, birthdefects, avoiding pregnancy, and more & no education regarding that was given to me. Rushed appt/lack of clinical critical thinking/no attempt to develop relationsh

Not collaborative with patient on care decisions, does not listen well or ask clarifying questions, dismissive, lacks empathy, does not explain alternatives and/or outcomes.

Ms. Camp performed a routine skin cancer screening for me on October 24, 2022. During the screening, she identified nine occurrences of possible skin cancer that she recommended for treatment. Without discussing or offering treatment alternatives (now vs. later, all vs. some, topical/cryogenic/surgical), she recommended treating all locations immediately. She was dismissive, impersonal, did not discuss my past treatment history, rushed through the appointment (because she had another patient waiting), and did not discuss after-care issues until after the treatment. While I objected to treating several of her diagnoses (me: "that spot's been there unchanged for years"), she insisted on treating them anyway, without really any choice on my part. She never asked "Is there any reason you don't wish to treat this at this time?" She did not listen well, nor did she ask questions. As a result, I will be going on vacation with four ugly bandages in obvious places (face, neck, back, stomach).
