I was referred to her by my insurance in 2022 as I was working on finding a new therapist through Kaiser. She seemed unenthusiastic immediately upon calling me to schedule my first appointment. When I misunderstood what she meant about finding a time each week to plan (I didn't realize she wanted a fixed time) she was telling me that I was 'running her around in circles' and treating me like I was stupid. Upon getting audibly upset and telling her I don't feel comfortable proceeding with her as my therapist and I didn't appreciate how rude she was being she went 'Okie Dokie' in a very condescending tone. This experience was very triggering to me and no action was taken to hold her accountable for how I was treated. Very upsetting experience and I felt highly disrespected by someone who is supposed to extend compassion to people in a vulnerable situation.

Ms. Vasquez is insightful, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!!

Kate is a really great therapist. She has helped me through a lot of difficulties over the course of the years. She listens well and has a way of reflecting back what she hears in a way that makes me feel understood. I highly recommend her.

Met with her once and felt like every answer I gave I was being corrected or scolded on how I answered. I'm sure she may be good at what she does, but she just was not a good fit for me. I cancelled my appointment 13 mins into the 24 hr mark and she charged me a $90 fee after I told her I was not going to continue with her because I found another therapist I wanted to work with. I’m know Kate Vasquez is good at her job otherwise my insurance wouldn’t have referred me to her. Well, for my first appointment I was pretty nervous after not being in therapy for a while. I let her know this but I ended up regretting opening up. She did point out some helpful things, but it was overall a really frustrating and hurtful appointment where her reactions and comments came across as though I was irritating her. After finding out where I lived, she told me a situation I had anxiety dealing with in the past was not that hard. She was condescending in her words and facial expressions when I trying to get help figuring out things I don’t tell anyone else. At one point she said, “I’m asking you for the fourth time” when I was confused and just trying to clarify with her. We could not move forward.

Kate Vasquez is the most thorough therapist I've ever been to. She goes over her policies thoroughly, will make sure that you understand your assessment results, there's continuity between sessions, etc. The problem I had with her was that she came across judgmental at times, stern and not very warm in the sessions. My sessions felt more like being in the principal's office than therapy, and I had to terminate.
