Delusional at best
Many years ago kate had a heart, a brain and a great reputation. All of which she used to serve a very different, healthy type of psychotherapy. I don't know why but she became enmeshed with anything computerized. According to kate, her files were continually kidnapped, held for ransom, locked against her and altered by someone else. This obsession and paranoia became the topic of most therapy sessions. She would not communicate at all and her medication management became frightening and dangerous. Her memory and ability to track declined rapidly. She made things up from her faulty memory and record keeping, refused to talk about these episodes except to fax these stories she created to all other providers she could find. She went from supportive, firm and knowledgeable to a gibbering mess with the willingness to destroy clients. Her reputation is no longer very good but some people who don't know her are unduly influenced by all the letters she keeps adding to her title. Beware!

I did survive Kate Hume with a lot of help. – Feb 06, 2025

She endangered myself and my family by taking an already diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic off of medication because he told her he was not schizophrenic any more. She also did not read the chart notes from the previous provider that he has very little insight into his condition or that he was on an injectable due to is tendency to lie about taking pill form medication. She absolutely is one of the worst psychiatric practitioners I have ever dealt with and then blamed the family for the problem she created.

Kate saved my life! She cared enough to make sure I was taken care of in a very volatile situation. I've been seeing her for many years and she's always worked well with me. She's been very patient because my case is rather difficult. I would recommend her to anyone who is willing to work on getting themselves better. She truly does care about each of her patients.

Excellent. Best of the best in the Knoxville, Tennessee, area for psychiatric treatment of any kind. Kind and compassionate. Has greater knowledge and cares much more than any of the other psychiatric practitioners, including doctors.

First off, Kate, is an incredible and unique person. Always makes time to see me, as she basically keeps 24/7 hours. She provides great input and feedback- really caring and collaborative. Life seems manageable and I have rediscovered the little joys in life. I wouldn't be where I am today without her and feel blessed to have found her along my journey. I have nothing but good things to say and I highly recommend her care.

At first I thought she was the greatest therapist that ever walked this earth. Then... no responses, prefers texts, lies about “getting back to you.” Slowly became about the money. WAY Confused and too busy to focus on what matters most. Drops you at the beat of drum once you finally get sick of it and confront her about her professionalism.

Years ago Kate was pretty darn great. More recently she has become uninterested, focused on her ever changing computers, networks and software. Very poor communications with clients. Gives many options to reach her, "prefers text" but if she responds to any of them it is several days later by text and probably won't address anything you ask about. She won't cooperate with other health care providers and will quit being your provider with no notice or referral. She's a mess, forgetful & confused.
