As an unemployed, 47 YO woman, I found my telephone call with Karen at Planned Parenthood to be extremely patronizing. She insists that I must have a mammogram (which is too expensive, but Karen dismissed the cost as being "around $200), and refused to administered my choice in birth control. The one that she offered me was one I would never choose; an IUD, which is not recommended for women like myself, who have never been pregnant or gave birth. She was extremely patronizing, and had no care or concern for my circumstances, as she confirmed that unless I did as she ordered, there would be no birth control for me - leaving me with the option to use condoms, hope for the best, and to come back when I needed an abortion. Thank you, Karen, for making your statements on a speakerphone, in the presence of other people. This particular Karen is probably a good NP, if you do exactly as she says, when she says it. But if you're like me, and don't fit into her boxes, she's rude.
